Day 1. Arrive Cochin
Our representative will greet you at the Cochin airport and assist you to the hotel. After spending some time in rest you can visit the popular spice market of Cochin filled with numerous exotic spices such as cloves, cardamom, ginger, turmeric, pepper and more. You can even take some spices home as souvenirs. Return to the hotel in evening for overnight stay.
Day 2. Cochin
After breakfast head to explore Cochin also referred as Queen of Arabian Sea. The city houses one of the finest harbors which even attracted the colonists and it was one of the first sites to be colonized. Take a guided tour of the city and visit the historic Fort Kochi, the Mattancherry Palace, Paradesi synagogue, St. Francis Church and see authentic Chinese Fishing nets- all these places hold immense historical wealth which you will discover. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 3. Cochin – Periyar
Relish authentic south Indian breakfast and proceed for Periyar. On arrival you will be transferred to the hotel where rest of the day is at your disposal. Enjoy your stay in the picaresque town and surreal atmosphere that will win your heart.
Day 4. Periyar
Today you will explore the Periyar wildlife sanctuary situated between two important rivers of Periyar and Pamba. The place, due to its strategic location, is extremely rich in flora and fauna. It is home to a significant population of tigers and elephants and other than those- rare lion-tailed macaques, sambar deer, leopards and Indian bison are found here. As you explore the wildlife sanctuary cruising in a boat, the scenic beauty of the place will lure you. Overnight in Periyar.
Day 5. Periyar – Kumarakom
Today from Periyar you will be driven to Kumarakom- a village nestled on Lake Vembanad. On arrival you will be transferred to the resort where after unwinding, you can explore the village or alternatively stay at your resort and enjoy the calmness of the backwaters. Overnight in Kumarakom.
Day 6. Kumarakom
Today after breakfast you will explore the village and visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary which is home to over 200 exotic species of birds including Cuckoos and Siberian storks. The Bay island driftwood museum which displays wooden sculptures is also a popular attraction of the city. After full day sightseeing, return to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 7. Kumarakom – Mararikulam
In the evening you will be driven to Mararikulam- a beautiful beach village. It is a popular getaway for those seeking a vacation far away from cities amidst nature’s lap. On arrival you will be transferred to the hotel where you’ll stay overnight.
Day 8. Mararikulam
Explore the pristine Marari beach of the town captivating the heart of tourists with its crystal clear blue waters and golden sand. The unspoilt beaches have gained attention of many tourists who dream to be alone in a paradise. Spend the day in leisure, relaxing on the shore and getting sun bath. Overnight stay in Mararikulam.
Day 9. Mararikulam – Cochin
On this day you will be dropped at the airport on time from where you’ll board your onward destination flight.
